Composed and Confident
In distinct contrast to Reykjavik, U.S. Secretary of State George Shultz appeared to be composed and confident at the press conference in Moscow. Recent talks with Soviet Foreign Minister Eduard Shevardnadze and General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev gave cause for hope that an agreement on dismantling intermediate-range missiles in Europe could be reached in the foreseeable future. This may bring about a summit meeting in Washington after all.
