Specialized Indexes

These searchable indexes have been compiled by the Archives from various records held in the University Archives. The indexes relate only to University records and contain no information from our manuscript collections. This area includes indexes to Scholastic, Observer, early students and teachers, and theater productions.


Calendar

Those who visit the Archives of the University of Notre Dame to do research know our calendar as a card catalog almost as large as the collections it indexes. Archival calendars contain summaries of individual documents arranged in chronological order. We have several calendars in the archives, but the one we call "the calendar" or "our calendar" contains descriptions of documents in nineteen collections dating from 1576 to 1957, most of them from the nineteenth century.


EAD Search

The EAD search differs from our current search mechanism in that it is somewhat simpler and includes general descriptions of our collections.
