Brother Aidan's Extracts

SINSINAWA, WISCONSIN 1866

"The Council was called to consider the expediency of purchasing the Dominican College at Sinsinawa. After mature deliberation, the Council decided to await further details."

-- Provincial Council Minutes, Feb. 26, 1866.

"The college spoken of must be, I suppose, the one known as Sinsinawa Mound College for young men which was closed in 1864 and to which the Dominican Sisters moved their Mother house from Benton, Wisconsin in 1867. In 1848 there is mention of a college of St. Thomas at Sinsinawa."

-- Centennial Essays.
