to Father Thomas Hassett

Hidalgo asks for the proper licenses to exercise the ministry all the time he remains in this city. For this purpose he encloses identifying documents.

Hassett, Father Thomas
New Orleans, Louisiana

In addition to the accompanying documents identifying himself, he must also show commendatory letters from the bishop of Puebla de los Angeles in which diocese he was employed. Nar(ci)so Broutin, as notary, notified Hidalgo of the above decree. Hidalgo said that he did not have them as he had forgotten them.

Hassett, Father Thomas

Since the document Hidalgo lacks must be considered a requisite for the licenses to exercise his ministry, Hassett cannot grant the request.
