Morales, Antonio
New Orleans, (Louisiana)

to Father Thomas Hasset(t)
(New Orleans, Louisiana)

With the authorization of Hassett and the Vice-Royal Patron, Morales wrote to Havana to order two bells for the Cathedral. The agent has made all arrangements to fill his order but not having on hand bells of that size they ordered them to be cast. However, because of the rumors of war the reliable house in the city has stopped making them. Hassett is to let Morales know what to do in this case.

Salcedo, Manuel de
New Orleans, (Louisiana)

to Father Thomas Hassett
(New Orleans, Louisiana)

Hassett's reasons are sound for transferring Father Juan Maguire, pastor of La Fourche, to Iberville, replacing him in the former by Father Enrique Boutin. This is in answer to Hassett's letter of the 18th. In the margin is written: Note that the copy of the letter of which this is the answer, is kept with the file for the appointment of Maguire and Boutin to Iberville and Ascension at La Fourche.
