ST. PALAIS, BISHOP
"Mission of Notre Dame not visited by its Bishop since 1849. Toward the end of July ?(1849) Msgr. de St. Palais, Bishop of Vincennes came for the second time for a regular visit. He stayed a month and seemed much satisfied with progress of religion and the work done by Holy Cross in this region. Personnel of Notre Dame doubled since his first visit."1849.
