Chronicles of Notre Dame du Lac
Edward Sorin, CSC -- Translated by John M. Toohey, CSC, 1895

pg 247 However, His Reverence wrote twice to F. Sorin asking him to
resume the direction of the establishment of New Orleans, which he
wished to place on their original footing; moreover, the Rev. F.
