  The typed texts of a variety of talks given by Niemeyer for "cursillos" (short courses) on Church-related topics, including "Reconciliation," "The Person of Christ," "Holy Orders," "Obstacles to Grace," and "Faith." These are dated throughout the 1980's, and comprise approximately 50 pages.

  A collection of a variety of papers and lecture notes of varying length, published and unpublished, by Niemeyer (evidently from the 1980s). Included are Niemeyer's article entitled "Are There 'Intelligible Parts' of History?" (in The Philosophy of Order: Essays on History, Consciousness and Politics , ed. Peter J. Opitz and Gregor Sebba, Sttutgart: Klett-Cotta, 1981), a 12-page paper (unpublished) entitled "The Church, the Shepherds, and the Spirit of Our Time," a 3-page paper on Flannery O'Connor, the text of a 5-page talk entitled "How To Talk to Mature People About Death," an 11-page (unpublished) paper entitled "Stewardship -- Theory and Practice," and approximately 15 typed pages of lecture notes under the titles of "The Solitary Thinkers" and "Autonomy vs. Authority."
• CGNM 9/27 Folder : The Book of Common Prayer Controversy 1975
  Published articles and correspondence (by Niemeyer and others) relating to the Book of Common Prayer controversy within the Episcopalian Church in the mid-1970s. The views expressed in these documents (including Niemeyer's letters) are predominantly opposed to the revision of the BCP and the general changes taking place within the Episcopalian Church.

  Extensive materials, including booklets, reading lists, examinations, examination answers, articles, and correspondence relating to Niemeyer's ordination to the diaconate (1973) and the priesthood (1980) of the Episcopal Church.
• CGNM 9/31 Folder : ECM Evangelical and Catholic Mission Synod 1989
  Articles, correspondence, and other documents relating to the formation of the new traditionalist Episcopal Synod of America in Fort Worth, Texas in response to the election of the first female bishop of the Episcopal Church in Boston (1989). The titles of the included articles are "New Episcopal synod could divide church," "New Group Fights Episcopal Changes," "Traditional Episcopalians may form separate synod," "Traditional Episcopalians form separate faction within church," and "Traditionalist Episcopalians Form A 'Church Within A Church'." Also included are the Constitution of the Episcopal Synod of America in Fort Worth and other articles on the relationship of the Christian Church to modernity.

  A report of the Hospice Patient Care and Training Committee dated September 21, 1978.
• CGNM 9/46 Folder : Leaving Episcopal Church 1992-1993
  A large collection of correspondence and articles relating to Niemeyer's decision to leave the Episcopal Church and convert to Roman Catholicism in 1993. Included are numerous letters between Niemeyer and the Church hierarchies of the dioceses of both the Roman Catholic Church and Episcopal Church, between Niemeyer and former parishioners, and between Niemeyer and his son Paul. The articles included relate to the large-scale conversion of Episcopalians to the Orthodox or Roman Catholic Churches in the wake of the increasing liberalism of the Episcopal Church, as well as a number of articles relating to the propriety of ordaining women to the priesthood of the Episcopal Church.

  Numerous congratulatory letters and cards written to Niemeyer on the occasion of his ordination to the permanent diaconate of the Episcopal Church in July 1973. Also included are articles regarding his ordination, the program for the event, and a copy of the sermon delivered during the service.

  Two membership directories for the Cathedral Church of St. James (South Bend) as well as a number of birthday cards for Niemeyer.
• CGNM 10/04 Folder : Bishop Sheridan Homily 1981
  The 11-page text of a sermon by Bishop Sheridan at the Cathedral of St. James delivered on August 30, 1981.
• CGNM 10/05 Folder : Society for the Preservation of the Book of Common Prayer 1972-1975
  A large collection of correspondence, articles, and booklets relating to Niemeyer's involvement in the controversy regarding the revision of the Book of Common Prayer (1972-1975). Niemeyer is listed as a "Sponsor" of the Society for the Preservation of the Book of Common Prayer and was very actively engaged in the matter. Many issues of the "Prayer Book Papers," a publication of the Society, are included, as well as numerous letters from Niemeyer to his superiors in the Episcopal Church regarding the revision of the Book of Common Prayer.

  5 recital programs involving the South Bend Recorder Society, dated 1968-1982.

  Numerous bulletins and periodicals published by the American Recorder Society and various local chapters, including the South Bend Recorder Society, the Chicago Recorder Society, and the Southern California Recorder Society (1965-1973).

  Materials relating to a workshop of the Gamba Guild (IUSB) held at Notre Dame from August 14-21, 1971. Included are a list of registered participants (including Niemeyer) as well as some correspondence relating to the workshop.

  Brief correspondence between Niemeyer and Robert Demaree, Jr., the Chairman of the Division of Music at Indiana University at South Bend and conductor of the South Bend Symphonic Choir, as well as a program for a performance by the South Bend Symphonic Choir at St. Andrew's Greek Orthodox Church on Nov. 19, 1988 entitled "The Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom: A Celebration of the Millennium of the Russian Orthodox Church."
