  David Mall ~ Americans United for Life: AUL legal Defense Fund ~ 4 letters from David to Gordon, 3 return letter from Gordon to David. ~ David initially contacts Gordon (5/12/78) to ask him to contribute an article about abortion to a proposed book--he gives the logistics of it. Gordon responds (10/17/95) that he is willing and warns David of his political and moral orientation as a pacifist. David writes back (10/24/78) to tell Gordon to please proceed with his essay. On 10/26/78 Gordon submits his article with a brief letter. 4/13/79 Gordon writes again, saying that he has not heard anything and asking if the book is still scheduled for publication. 4/23/79, David writes that the book was sent to the publishers and could be in print by fall. On 6/2/80 Gordon writes to David again saying that he has not heard anything for over a year and asks that if his essay is not going to be used that it be returned so that he can find another publisher. ~ see above

  Short note on cover to Gordon from David O'Brien saying that they will not get a publisher, and a 22-page paper that Gordon presented attached. ~ In his lecture paper, Gordon tells of an Association of Catholic Conscientious Objectors that went unrecognized and unsupported by the church during WWII. He then outlines the Catholic Church's teaching on war considering the "just war" and the "modern war." Gordon goes on to assert that Christian pacifism should be primary, however it is far from being accomplished, and he gives examples from the church. Gordon calls for a new attitude and new teachings and actions from the church, giving suggestions of what and how.

Yet, he also mentions that these progressions have not gotten rid of the problmes and those that are in need. PLAN has helped to help this less fortunate people to build houses, go to school, and get jobs. However, they still need support if they will be able to continue to do this.
