In response to President Clinton lifting the ban on performing abortions in military hospitals, the archbishop for mlitary services wrote to the Presendent requesting that no person be pressured into participating in abortion procedures who are opposed to abortion. Gordon asserts that this request regarding the abortion debate parallels the debate over concientious objectors.
