  Dick is now hospitalized with pneumonia, making his illness "a living death", with Edna praying God will take him. She told him about the nursing home and he accepted, and is poorly adjusting to the change of homes. Edna is in very poor mental shape with his disease and asks for Gordon's prayer as her "faith is waning".
