Spain a Kingdom Again

After the death of Generalissimo Francisco Franco, Prince Juan Carlos de Bourbon was enthroned today as King of Spain Juan Carlos I. His spouse Princess Sophia of Greece stands on his side as Queen. Juan Carlos is the grandson of Juan Carlos Alfonso XIII, the last king of Spain (1902 - 31), who had to leave the country because of internal unrests. Thus, after 44 years, a cruel civil war, and a phalanx dictatorship, Spain is becoming a kingdom again. Will the constitutional monarchy be able to unite the divergent elements in the country? Spain forms an important link in the Western defense concept. Will it find under Juan Carlos the way to the new Europe?
