A Common Currency

Europe would gain a great deal if it would finally succeed in introducing a common currency. Be it a Euro-Dollar, Euro-Schilling or Euro-Franc, there would be no need any more to change money at the borders between German Marks, Schillings, Francs, Liras, Guilders, Kronas or Pounds.

Hope for a Common World Civilization

This year’s Salzburg Festival was opened with the notable address by the President of Senegal Léopold Sédar Senghor. The philosopher, poet and statesman spoke about Austria representing a common world civilization. Today, the music of Mozart is understood everywhere, no matter on which continent it is heard. Austria, whose music, poetry and art has originated from the manifold intellectual encounters in Central Europe, offers an example for a possible universal world civilization, which could unite all peoples in a sense of a common humanity.

In a Festive Mood

At the time of summer festivals in Austria, a special festive mood arises, which spreads among the native population as well as the many guests from abroad. Who wouldn’t like to be carried away by it and spend at least one evening in a good mood?
