Delvaux, Father (Jean)
to Father (Antonio de Sedella, auxiliary vicar) For several days the wife of a man named Tonan has been complaining of savage treatment accorded her by her husband. She has placed herself under the protection of Father Delvaux and the commandant (Antonio Blanc). Delvaux says that every one thinks Tonan a bad character and he asks that Sedella grant the poor woman a separation and allow her to return to her family. He has a prayer-book in Indian which he will send when the opportunity comes.
