The Bishop notifies the Governor:
1). That by the enclosed copy (copy not enclosed), he will learn
of the order the Bishop has to send Father Joaquin de Portillo to
Cartagena, or if there should be no need for him there, to Havana
at the disposal of the Governor.
2). And that as Father Portillo is not needed in Cartagena, the
Bishop with the approval of the Governor sends him to Havana on
board the Brigantine "Nuestra Senora del Pilar" under Captain
Vicente (?) that sails today. Signed by Luis Bishop of Louisiana.

Casas states:
1). That Father Joaquin de Portillo about whom he received a
confidential communication of 9th of last September from Penalver
has arrived at Havana.
2). That, in fulfillment of the royal Order concerning his
destination that has been likewise communicated to him by the
Ministry of Grace and Justice, Casas sends him to Cartagena of the
West Indies on board of the "Florida Blanca" in order that he may
appear before the Tribunal of the Inquisition of that city.
3). Finally, that he arranged that Portillo's stay at Havana,
awaiting the time of sailing, should be spent in a becoming manner,
and in such a way that neither his case nor his destination should
become known to the public, as ordered in the above-mentioned Royal
Order.
