Arraya, Father Miguel Joseph Miguel J(ose)ph Blanco y Araya, canon of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in the city of St. Cristobal in Havana, certifies that he never saw or was told that the Vice-Royal patrons who attended the ceremonies were incensed, the custom being unknown in the Island. It was not performed during his time, nor during the time of the Count of Santa Clara, nor at the present. D.S. (Spanish)

Catalan, Juan Christomo Correoso Catalan, Maestrescuela of the above Cathedral, certifies what Arraya has stated above. He has lived a long time in the city and has never seen the ceremony performed. D.S. (Spanish)
