Father Walsh informs Bishop Penalver that by decree of January 12th of that year he has fixed the 21st of the same month to publish in the Cathedral of New Orleans the Holy Bull of the Crusade and the special indult granted by Pope Pius VI for the Lent days of 1798 and 1799. Walsh begs the Bishop to order to give it the greatest solemnity. To this is added a copy of a note, dated Jan. 19, 1798, in which the Bishop orders the publication of the Bull Cruziada on Sunday Jan. 21 and invites all the New Orleans clergy to attend.
