Delgado, Father Ubaldo Delgado calls attention to instruction given at San Lorenzo November 30, 1792, for the observance of the royal ordinance of December 17, permitting marriage between Protestants and Catholics in this colony. Doubtless Wil[k]coff has based his petition for marriage with Isabel Mather on this but since no causes can be found to make it legitimate it should be denied. Delgado quotes from proceedings of the General Council of Carcedonia, from Pope Benedict XIV's diocesan synod, Canon 45, a Bull of November 11, 1741 and Clement XI. A.D.S. (Spanish)
