(Penalver y Cardenas), Bishop Luis
New Orleans, Louisiana

to Andres Fernandes
(New Orleans, Louisiana)

On January 27 of this year Fernandes proposed to the governor the building of a house at the Charity Hospital on the ground next to M. Fabre's, the interpreter, in Dumas Street with a frontage of 60 feet and depth of 120 feet. Even if the frontage is 60 feet, only 36 would be used. There would be a width of 33 feet and 11 height. The walls of the front, back and sides would be one foot and those in between would be eight inch bricks. The building should be divided into 4 equal rooms. In front in the patio a gallery of 8 or 9 feet in width along the 36 feet length. The roof will be all of tile from Pensacola. If Fernandes carries out his generous offer the 2000 pesos from Jaime Fonda(?) will be turned over to him, the 200 which was received from Leonardo Masansa and (other materials toward the building).
