Astrik L. Gabriel: Manuscripts
- CALG 4/33.09 Letter : Ivánka Endre to ALG 1956/0927
Endre asks ALG to review a manuscript that is jointly published by the University of Löwen. It is a summary of humanistic trends after 1945. Should ALG provide criticism of the Hungarian part of the volume, his name will be added together with the comment. Now Endre is working on a volume comprising already published essays on Hungarian Humanism. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.10 Letter : ALG to Ivánka Endre 1957/0125
ALG inteded to write sooner but was too busy between lecturing in Washington and revising student's dissertations. He congratulates Endre for his appointment to president of the Káldi Association and for his many scientific publications. ALG informs Endre that he is at variance with the president of the Academy concerning the membership -- ALG's view is that every current member should vote for a candidate in writing, considering late or no answers as a positive votes. In addition a serious Catholic Academy has to have a list of the names of its members -- ALG still doesn't know who is member and who is not -- and a serious board of editors working independently from parish priests. He agrees with Imre's proposition that instead of the yearly almanac they should put out a series of pamphlets in parts. ALG encloses the bealted, yet helpful literature of Hungarian Humanistic trends for Endre's consideration. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.11 Letter : Schwartz Elemér to ALG 1956/0831
Due to ALG's repeated enquiries, Elemér has looked into the general process of how to become a member of the Academy and can only reassure ALG that they are doing it the right way. The model the Hungarian Catholic Academy is strictly following in all organizational aspect, including membership issues, is the Papal Academy. Endre Ivan'ka is in accordance with Elemér in this matter. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.12 Letter : Schwartz Elemér to ALG 1955/1025
Elemér has heard the news from Dám Ince concerning ALG's dissaproval of the Hungarian Catholic Academy's practice, according to which membership is based on academic invitation instead of election. Yet he confidentially informs ALG that the very reason he proposed this form of membership acceptance, which was backed by the Cardinal and Head of the Roman Catholic Church in Hungary, József Mindeszenty, was ALG himself. ALG should have been member of both Hungarian academies already a long time ago, however, he was twice unelectable due to his religion and ideology. The election method in Hungary resulted in clannish vote, which in turn excluded accomplished scholars, such as ALG, from being members. To avoid this mistake and to get ALG in the Academy, which is now seated in Rome and Brussels, Elemér introduced a more just system: a small group of acadmic theoreticians of the related field decide who to invite and then who to accept. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.13 Letter : Schwartz Elemér to ALG 1955/1028
Elemér is sorry to hear that ALG has resigned and will not be the oversees general secretary of the Academy any more. Further he reassures ALG that the Káldi Association is a constitutionally functioning vital organization of the Academy and Mr. Mihályi does an excellent job running it in America. Elemér is sad to note that this incident between ALG and Dr. Gilbert Mihályi is the first within the doors of the Academy. However he hopes for ALG's close collaboration with them in the future. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.14 Letter : ALG to Dr. Schwartz Elemér 1955/1104
ALG thanks Elemér for his letter and for his understanding concerning his resignation. ALG regrets to inform Elemér that the Káldi Association is not cooperating with the Academy, thus with ALG, moreover the society invites people from the home defence force to be academic members. Seated in Brussels and Rome, the chancellory must not have heard about these details before. But ALG assures Elemér of his continuous support and warm-hearted cooperation with Elemér's erudite achievements. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.15 Letter : ALG to Dr. Schwartz Elemér 1955/1105
ALG is glad to hear that Elemér is an adherent supporter of him and his scholarly work. Elemér is right concerning the Academy's membership in Europe. However, in the United States all serious Institutions elect their members. Furthermore, ALG still has qualms about the legitimacy and seriousness of the Káldi Association, being just an initiative not capable of presenting results to be able to attract the patronage of cardinals. Unfortunately the society, by supporting individual ambition instead of the traditional and common goals, will soon lose its credibility in the United States. ALG will not lend his name to anything that is not in accordance with the old and traditional spirit of the Pázmány Péter University and with the ideology of its leading teachers and scholars, such as Dr. Schwartz Elemér. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.16 Letter : Dám Ince to ALG 1955/1007
Ince sends information about new events at the Hungarian Catholic Academy. Schwartz Elemér opposes ALG's idea of taking over the Corvina due to its high cost. Consequently the Academy continues to support the Civitas Dei that was originally launched with the approval of the board. Pollak still speculates around publishing the yearly almanac, which is understandable because he doesn't know the number of reservations. He asks ALG to estimate the number the of possible copies sold in New York and other big city meetings. It would be a great addition to the Institute at Notre Dame the recently published biography of Hofer Kapistrán and Ince asks ALG to take over few issues. The officials have put an end to hundreds of packages that were already sent off to Hungary. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.17 Letter : ALG to Dám Ince 1955/1011
ALG sends in the order for the Hofer Kapistrán work and the Andreas Pannonius microfilm that he would like to purchase. The money will be transferred to Ince's name from the Medieval Institute. ALG, after reading the two letters sent by Mihály Gilbert, resigns from his job as secretray general of the Academy. Should the Academy change and turn into a serious institution from merely a club of Catholic young fellows, ALG is to resume responsibility again. He will organize the ceremony in February, relying on the Catholic League, Julian, and the Medieval Institute, consequently excluding the Academy. Furthermore ALG proposes the realignment of the Catholic Academy on the basis of election and academic standards. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.18 Document : Membership list of the Hungarian Catholic Academy
Charter members include József Ferenc from Portugalia, the last emperor of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.19 Document : Short article in the Hungarian Catholic Sunday, Cleveland
About recent events and main publications organized by the Hungarian Catholic Academy emphasizing the scientific division of the Academy, the Káldi Association. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.20 Letter : Schwartz Elemér to ALG 1955/0503
Elemér, chancellor of the Academy, requests ALG to accept the position of American secretary general of the Academy. Together with the chancellor, ALG would have a say in the operation of this important institution. Elemér sends the plans for various prizes, coins, and awards of the Academy for next year and asks ALG's advise. The Vatican, otherwise morally supportive of the Hungarian Academy, will not make financial commitments. Thus Elemér asks ALG's suggestion concerning endowments for arts and cultural programs in America. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.21 Letter : Mr. Szabó to ALG 1955/0510
Mr. Szabó introduces himself and sends his respect to ALG who, while Director of the Medieval Institute at Notre Dame, is also the torch-bearer of the Hungarian spirit in the New World. Out of veneration and affection, he encloses his recently published work and would be obliged if ALG would send his remarks. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.22 Letter : Lám Imre to ALG 1955/0403
Imre responds to the scientific part of ALG's last letter. He sends details about a lecture in Rome that resulted in anger and conflict among Franciscans. Since the famous speaker presented solid evidence to support his case in the Duns Scotus case, Imre asks if ALG could provide them with more serious and possibly older data concerning the Scotus-argument. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.23 Letter : Lám Imre to ALG 1955/0403
Imre is sorry for not writing sooner but he was busy exploring the committee organizing the Fall conference. Lately Mons. Maccarone from the Vatican provided him with the details about the conference and the "communicatio". With ALG's presumed approval, he has ordered the five volume monograph with all the lectures to be presented at the conference, which will be shipped to ALG's address. Thus he can prepare his comments in advance and this way participate and be part of the communicatio. Imre is finishing his Immaculata thesis and will publish it soon. Since ALG provided so many helpful data for him, he would like to dedicate his monograph to him and asks for ALG's affirmation. His emigration to the United States, under the auspicies of the Saint Bonavanture Franciscan Institute in New York, is coming along. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.24 Letter : Schwartz Elemér to ALG 1955/0327
Elemér has recently sent a copy of his book to ALG. He plans to visit Rome to discuss the financing of the Hungarian Catholic Academy and the possible nominations of new Fellows. Should ALG find a corporation in America willing to donate money to the Academy, he is to let him know as soon as possible. Elemér names couple of candidates for certain academic positions, such as chairman, general secretary, and member of the Academy and meanwhile asks ALG if he would tell him his opinion concerning these people. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.25 Letter : ALG to Dr. Komjathy-Schwartz Elemér 1955/0330
ALG thanks Elemér for his fantastic essay and for his honourable letter. He lists his suggestions for the upcoming academic meeting. Based on his academic excellence, ALG advises Burger Károly for chairman, Ibrányi Ferenc for general secretary, and Prof. Körmendy as new member. Since they don't have enough publications, the candidacy of Föltenyi and Grosschmid should be deferred. The Hungarian Catholic League is the only organization in the U.S. that would support the Academy since they do caritative work. ALG suggests Elemér to introduce the Pázmány-chain to the board, which would be awarded only to special members of the Academy with a redemption of $100. Just like the Laetare Medal at the University of Notre Dame, this chain would be popular among many professors across American universities, who use their membership for popularity, and therefore the award would serve as and excellent perk to the Academy. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.26 Letter : Föltényi István to ALG 1955/0314
István thanks ALG for his two letters. He is glad to hear that ALG approves of his recently published article concerning the Hungarian-Sumirian-affinity propaganda. Since the appearance of the article many Hungarian language newspapers around the world have called István a treasonous pan-slavic archeologist. His candidacy in the Academy was Prof. Schwartz's idea. Subsequently István thinks it is up to the academic members to nominate new Fellows. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.27 Letter : ALG to Schwartz Elemér 1955/0309
ALG begs pardon for the delay in sending the promised article but he was very busy. He encloses the article and also the letter he sent to the general secretary, Dám Ince, with specific instructions about how the article should appear in the yearbook -- its illustrations, typography, and imprints paid by ALG --. The article is about Bereck Márton, rector of the University of Paris in the middle ages. Meanwhile ALG has been exchanging letters with Dr. Föltényi István regarding István's nominations of new Fellows: Dr. Horva'th Barna and Halsi Kun Tibor. Yet ALG thinks that Paikert Géza is the closest to candidature. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.28 Letter : Föltényi István to ALG 1955/0303
István is sorry that he intruded upon ALG with the nomination of Dr. Halasi-Kun as new Fellow. His previous information was wrong because now he just found out that Dr. Halasi-Kun is of Calvinistic religion. Therefore he could only be nominated to honourable membership. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.29 Letter : Föltényi István to ALG 1955/0224
István sends information regarding past appointments of the candidate Dr. Horváth Barna -- such as his job at the Hungarian Academy between 1945-47 and at Pázmány Péter/Eötvös University in 1948 after the Academy had been completely dominated by communists. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.30 Letter : Dám Ince to ALG 1955/0220
Ince has been very busy travelling around Italy and visiting libraries and archives of several monasteries. During his Andreas Pannonius-round-trip Ince found important material that completes his previous research on the subject. He looks forward to seeing ALG in Spring in Rome. In the meanwhile he plans to leave Rome and move to America. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.31 Letter : Föltényi István to ALG 1954/0203
Since the nomination of new Fellows is coming up, István sends his candidates and related suggestions to ALG for consideration. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.32 Letter : ALG to the Chair of Academia Catholica Hungarica 1955/0121
ALG proposes Körmendy Jenö for corresponding membership of the Academy. Körmendy Jenö is a world famous Hungarian sculptor who lives with his artist wife, Erzsébet, in South Bend, Indiana. Because of his important contribution to the arts, at large, for example his sculpture of Christ in front of the Washington office of the NCWC, and because of his many other sculptures, monuments, and awards not only in Budapest, Hungary but around the world, ALG strongly reccommends Körmendy Jenö for election into the Academy. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.33 Letter : ALG to to the Chair of Academia Catholica Hungarica 1954/1201
ALG proposes Dr. Grosschmid-Zsögöd Géza Béni, economist and political sociologist, for corresponding member of the Academy. His candidacy is worthwile to consider and ALG lists Dr. Grosschmid's degrees, accomplishements, and appointments to support his deserving election. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.34 Letter : Kramár Jenö to ALG 1954/1230
Jenö would have written sooner and would have sent an article to the editors of the year-book, but he had been in the hospital for a long time. But he intends to send a communiqué for the next year's issue if he gets the notice in time. As they have been good-old friends with Msgr. Francis Ibrányi, Jenö asks ALG for his address. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.35 Letter : ALG to Kramár Jenö 1955/0111
ALG sends Ibrányi's address and invites Jenö to Notre Dame, if opportunity arises. Should Jenö change his mind concerning the article, he is to send it to Prof. Schwartz. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.36 Letter : Ibrányi Ferenc to ALG 1954/1125
He thanks ALG for forwarding Prof. Schwartz's request to write an article in the Academy's year-book. Although the deadline is close, Ferenc will do his best to finish his article. During his visit in Toronto this summer, he heard great news about ALG from his colleagues. Ferenc is happy to hear that ALG was promoted to Director of the Medieval Institute. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.37 Letter : Schwartz Elemér to ALG 1954/1218
Elemér thanks ALG for his letter and for the two nominations that are already on their way to Rome. He agrees with ALG's clever proposal concerning the future of the Academy and he will suggest the restructuring of the constitution according to ALG's ideas. Elemér sends the plans to divide the post of the general secretary into two: one European and one oversees. He asks ALG to suggest someone from the list to be the chairman. Per ALG's request, Elemér extended the deadline for the year-book's admixture one more month. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.38 Letter : Rezsőházi Rudolf to ALG 1954/1216
Rudolf writes a few lines to introduce himself to ALG. As he reviews ALG's classic about the lives of Hungarian saints he is happy to read the wonderful twists and turns of the Hungarian language that ALG mastered so well. Now Rudolf lives and teaches in Belgium and is planning to publish two books. He asks ALG to exchange letters since both of them are literate Hungarians who live far from each other. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.39 Letter : ALG to Schwartz Elemér 1954/1201
ALG sends his nomination of Grosschmid Géza and informs Elemér that he forwarded his request to the members of the Academy in the Unites States and Canada. Now final examinations are taking place at the universities and ALG advises Elemér to extend the deadline of the articles to February 1st. ALG is planning the Academy's publicity in the US. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.40 Letter : Grosschmid Géza to ALG 1954/1204
Géza thanks ALG not only for his willingness to nominate him in the Academy but also for his great effort -- as still a loyal Premontré -- to type the Hungarian reccommendation without accents. He encloses his C.V. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.41 Document : Few lines about ALG and the type of research he is doing: a great scholar and an enjoyable speaker who embellishes all his work with thoughtful acedemic lecture notes. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.42 Letter : ALG to Schwartz Elemér 1954/1119
ALG plans to write the nomination of Grosschmid. He asks Elemér if he has heard about the artist pair, the Körmendy's, who would be great candidates for Academic membership. He plans to visit Louvain in Belgium this summer and will probably meet Elemér then. The University of Notre Dame publishes a work on the "Immaculata Conceptior" thus ALG suggested for them to consider the important research results of Dám Ince on this topic. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.43 Letter : ALG to Dám Ince 1954/1109
ALG congratulates Ince for his recently published article on the Hungarian story of the immaculate conception. The article is written according to the most rigid scholastic traditions. ALG plans to visit Rome this summer where he will examine the Hungarian material. But it is hard for him to return to the lands of Pannonia from the international milieu he is surrounded by. Now ALG studies the original prints of the Hungarian Franciscan scholar, Guibert de Tournai, comparing it to that of Magyarorszagi Mihaly. He sends his regards to rector Balic. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.44 Letter : Schwartz Elemér to ALG 1954/0820
Elemér congratulates ALG for his membership in the Academy. The Academy has paid its score with this as ALG should have been a Fellow long time ago. Finally ALG is the long deserved decoration of the Academy. He thanks for ALG's willingness to write up an article in the upcoming year-book and for his financial support of the administration. He is happy to hear that ALG will give a lecture in Rome during the Maria-Congress. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.45 Letter : Schwartz Elemér to ALG 1954/0922
At other member's requests, ALG should publish a communiqué about the members of the Academy living in the United States and Canada. Elemér thanks ALG for his effort in helping the Academy. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.46 Letter : ALG to Schwartz Elemér 1954/1027
ALG would have written sooner but he was busy with the begginning of the school year. He is happy to send out a new release about the Academy, however, he would need more information about where the Fellows live. ALG will mention Elemér's devoted work and support of the Academy. ALG proposes a $10 mandatory fee from the American members of the Academy. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.47 Letter : ALG to Dám Ince 1954/1027
ALG begs pardon for not writing sooner but he was very busy. He asks Ince for information concerning the lenght and the due date of the article for the year-book. ALG is happy to hear that the codified textbook of Collegium Christi, which ALG had studied in Hungary, is now available on microfiche. ALG is sorry to inform Ince that his study on the Brevarium-type codices -- translations of old Hungarian Bible-excerpts -- it got lost somewhere. But Ince doesn't miss anything by not reading it. Should Ince put together the list of the addresses of the members, he is to send it to ALG for the communiqué. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.48 Letter : Dám Ince to ALG 1954/0920
Ince would consider it an honour if ALG would write an article in their year-book, on a topic that does not necessarily have Hungarian pertinence. The essay should be written in an international language, instead in Hungarian. He asks ALG's help in finding ALG's study on the Brevarium-type codified texts, a work that even the Vatican is missing. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.49 Letter : Dám Ince to ALG 1954/0810
Ince is sorry that the Academia Catholica Hungarica does not have the means to collaborate more expansively with the University of Notre Dame. But the plan is to publish the Scientiis Artibusque every year, which will give raison d'étre to the Academy. In October, Ince will organize the Immaculata Congress in Rome and asks ALG if he would contribute by presenting one of his treatises. Ince is now collaborating with Father Balic at the Academia Mariana Internationalis in Rome. To avoid any subsequent confusion, he sends ALG the topic he works at, which greatly overlaps with ALG's research in the past -- Hungarian related reactions to the fight over the Immaculata. Moreover this is not the only area where their research concurs but Ince hopes that this will lead to an extensive collaboration with ALG in the future. Ince would like to meet ALG in person in Rome at the conference. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.50 Letter : ALG to Schwartz Elemér 1954/0805
ALG congratulates Elemér for his initiative that aptly gathers Hungarian scientists around the world. Every word of the constitution gives evidence of Elemér's great knowledge about the politics of science, such as the implication of cardinal-protectors in the project. ALG thanks Elemér for his nomination done with flattering confidence. The Rector Magnificus of Notre Dame personally wrote a letter to the general secretary of the Academy to thank the Academy for ALG's tribute. Hungarian
- CALG 4/33.51 Letter : ALG to Dám Ince 1954/0805
ALG is glad to hear that he has been elected full member of the Hungarian Catholic Academy. Visiting the Medieval Institute and ALG, Rev. Balic cordially remembered Father Dám Ince. Soon ALG will send him a report on his academic research. Should Ince send him the list with the names and addresses of the members and fellows, ALG is to launch the press-release about the Institution in both English and Hungarian. Hungarian

- CALG 4/52.01 Letter : Krúdy Ferenc to ALG 1962
Ferenc is sorry that he could not attend ALG's lecture in Toronto, Canada, but he had to listen to Borbély Zoltán's coincidental lecture. Ferenc would be obliged if ALG would visit Kovách Aladár in the editorial room upon his arrival in Münich. Ferenc is interested only in those Hungarians who prepared or otherwise took part in the Archduke Habsburg Ottó's lecture of last month. The Archduke's message echoed the idea what Ferenc, and others at the Hungarian Helicon Society, have aspired long ago. Namely that there should be a preponderance of intellectual movements in Europe attesting that Europe inheres Hungary. Lately Ferenc was glad to read Mihályi Gilbert's essay in the series "The Iron Curtain". He wishes good luck to ALG on his trip to Germany. Hungarian
- CALG 4/52.02 Letter : Krúdy Ferenc to ALG 1962/0218
Ferenc is happy to hear about ALG's new book and his other tributes. Both Father Borbely and him are looking forward to ALG's visit in Toronto. Ferenc confidentially asks ALG to search for fellow Hungarians upon his visit to Europe, who sympathize with them and also who would be helpful in diplomacy and publicity employing their ambition, intellect, and wit. Ferenc wishes to establish a friendly circle, within the Hungarian Helicon, by selectively inviting certain people. The aim of the society is to influence Western-European public opinion about Trianon, Soviet imperialism in Eastern Europe, and Hungary's essential role in the European cultural millieu. Teleki Pál's intellectual legacy would be a gold-mine to the erudites of this movement. Ferenc also hopes that the pro-Soviet West will not be influenced by the radicalism of the bourgeoise who despise the notion of the nation state. After reflecting on the invited guests, Ferenc asks ALG to reccommend those who are to lead the society on a permanent basis. A friend of his from France will contact ALG in this regard. Hungarian
- CALG 4/52.03 Letter : Krúdy Ferenc to ALG 1962/0126
Ferenc is sorry not to receive news from ALG for one and a half year. Since then many new trends have unfolded within the Hungarian emigrant circles in Toronto. Hungarians in emigration need more and more learned scholars and professionals who join in to communicate their mission in an imposing manner. To this effect, the Helicon plans to invite ALG to Toronto to give a talk. Ferenc asks ALG to send his travel plans for the next months. Hungarian
- CALG 4/52.04 Letter : Dr. Torzsay-Biber Gyula to ALG 1961/0911
Lately many Hungarians celebrated the 500 anniversary of the great Hungarian Rennaisance King, King Matthias. Also the Helicon wishes to commemorate this event for its members and friends. Gyula would be obliged if ALG, as the only expert among the members, would agree to lecture about King Matthias. The rendition would take place in April 1962. Gyula and the Helicon-board still remembers ALG's fantastic talk he gave in Toronto. Hungarian
- CALG 4/52.05 Letter : Krúdy Ferenc to ALG 1960/0606
Ferenc thanks ALG for his letter. He asks ALG not to forget them while travelling in Münich, Germany, and to look for possible nominees. Thus ALG should get information concerning possible clear minded Hungarian friends who have not done anybody a favours, in particular not to progressive circles. It is imperative for the Helicon Society to reestablish themselves in Germany and ALG is instrumental in this plan. He encloses a membership list of the Society. Ferenc wishes a nice trip to ALG. Hungarian
- CALG 4/52.06 Letter : Borsi Tivadar to ALG 1958/0223
On behalf of Dr. Torzsay-Biber Gyula, Tivadar informs ALG that he has been reelected president of the Hungarian Helicon for the year 1958. ALG's election is instrumental putting the society's vernacular plans into action. Hungarian
- CALG 4/52.07 Letter : Borsi Tivadar to ALG 1958/0210
Tivadar informs ALG that they will rent the ballroom of the Hart House in Toronto for ALG's performance. He also informs ALG about the plans concerning the invitations and asks ALG to send his observations on the event. Hungarian

- CALG 5/01.01 Letter : Tar Pál to ALG 1993/0826

- CALG 5/01.02 Letter : Dr. V. Udvary Tibor to ALG 1987/0206
Tibor thanks ALG for his christmas card and his publication. On the occasion of Hungarian Heritage month, he will organize the Michael de Kovats festivities on May 11th. Tibor asks ALG to participate in the event as honorary chair of his foundation who will be conducting the gathering. Since ALG is well connected, in preparation of this event Tibor needs ALG's help in borrowing Hungary's "Arany Bulla" either from Esztergom, Hungary, or from the Vatican Library, through his connections. Hungarian

Maiden name Ujváry Katalin, who died on April 20th, 1986.
- CALG 5/01.04 Letter : Dr. Gyöngyi Török to ALG 1986/0511
Gyöngyi thanks ALG for his letter. She sends information concerning her travel to the US in the summer. She will give two invited talks, one at Washington and one at Bloomington, but in between these two conferences she has no stipend to cover her stay in America. Therefore she has already contacted the Getty Museum and now asks ALG for advise in receiving funds. Hungarian
- CALG 5/01.05 Letter : Dr. Horváth Elek to ALG 1976/0623
Elek informs ALG about the Committee for an American Hungarian Bicentennial Monument. As president of the Committee, he would be obliged if ALG would participate in the bicentennial committee and accept the invitation for membership in the National Council. Hungarian
- CALG 5/01.06 Letter : Nádas János to ALG 1976/0416
János is sorry for the delay of the manuscript that list the selected bibliography the members of the Árpád Academy. He asks ALG, and all others, to send a list of their recent publications, namely their work after 1971. Hungarian
- CALG 5/01.07 Letter : Berka József to ALG 1976/0209
József sends information concerning his delegation in Iraq and thereafter in Algeria. He expects to live in the Arab world for a long time and thus is sorry to miss ALG's next visit to Budapest. In his last letter, József mentioned Tauszik to ALG so he can keep him in mind, a fellow historian who will participate in the Lomonoszov University Congress. Hungarian
- CALG 5/01.08 Letter : Lukács Iván to ALG 1975/1112
Iván thanks ALG for his letter. He does not think that he will be elected as president. Yet he would like to address certain issues during an incidental president's account. He wishes good health to ALG. Hungarian
- CALG 5/01.09 Letter : Vayer Lajos to ALG 1974/1113
Lajos is happy to hear from ALG's former student, Gyöngyi Török, that finally ALG will visit Hungary next Fall. However, they might see each other sooner than that. Lajos has an invitation from Princeton Institute for Advanced Study for three months starting January 1975.
