- CALG 6/08.01 Letter : Ivánka Endre to ALG
Endre did not write sooner to respond because he has not been in Vienna, Austria, for a while. He just had the chance to consult with Professor Patzelt. Endre encloses the letter that Professor Patzelt received from the American Cultural Attaché. Endre thinks that Professor Patzelt should have sent his letter directly to ALG and not to the American embassy. Although Professor Patzelt was willing to do what Endre and ALG asked him to do, he did not succeed in achieveing any positiv outcome. Endre is particularly sorry because ALG's talk would have been an opportunity for them to get-together. He asks ALG about his summer plans as Endre would like to visit him in Europe somewhere. They have many things to talk over, such as the Academy. Hungarian
- CALG 6/08.02 Letter : Ivánka Endre to ALG 1958/0105
As soon as Endre received ALG's letter, he immediately contacted Prof. Erna Patzelt. She is the most privy person to invite ALG to give a talk at the Vienna University. She also has connections with the American embassy. Endre thinks that ALG should send few of his essays directly to her with a note suggesting an invitation. Endre will attend conferences in München and Löwen and asks if ALG will be there as well. He agrees with ALG that the Hungarian Catholic Academy is not doing a good job as it shows no sign of life. Should they meet in Europe this summer, ALG and Endre is to discuss the case of the Pázmány Academy. Endre sends the plans of a new Academy. Hungarian

József sends Father Molnár Antal's address. He is looking forward to ALG's visit. Hungarian
- CALG 6/09.02 Letter : Dr. Kohári József to ALG 1955/0506
József thanks ALG for his letter. Out of the dates ALG suggested June 4th works best. He will announce ALG's visit and informal talk in the Hungarian House of London. József looks forward to ALG's visit. Hungarian
- CALG 6/09.03 Letter : Dr. Kohári József to ALG 1955/0427
If ALG's stay in England is not too brief, ALG could visit London. József sends a note to invite ALG to meet the Hungarian Catholic Circle of London and to give a speech. József asks ALG to respond to the invitation as soon as he can. He hopes to see ALG soon. Hungarian
- CALG 6/09.04 Letter : Szalay to ALG 1954/1129
Szalay notes that ALG will receive good and cheap accommodation at the Eudists in Paris, who stay in the XIV. district. ALG should contact Rezek to help him in making the arrangements. He recently took part in the meeting of the International Conference. Many people congratulated him for his fantastic talk from last Winter. Szalay explained them that it was ALG lecturing, not him. He agrees with ALG that it is difficult acting for the common good these days as it doesn't serve the cause any more. Hungarian

Appeared in the "Chronicle of Higher Education", Budapest, Hungary. The topic of the study is Hungarian research and cooperation in the history of universities. It mentions ALG as being the current president of the International Commission for the History of Universities. ALG became honorary member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1984. In his 1982 speech at the Academy, ALG presented new material, data, and pictures concerning young Hungarians studying in Paris towards the end of the Middle Ages. Hungarian

- CALG 6/24.01 Letter : ALG to Dr. Székely György 1992/0512
ALG sends his regards and congratulations to György. He is happy to note that under the presidency of György the Hungarian Commission of the International Commission for the History of Universities is doing az excellent work. Lately ALG did research in the Library of Congress on a German typographer living in Paris, Berchtoldus Rembolt. ALG will be visiting György in Budapest in the summer, after the meeting of the Paris Academy. He sends his regards to Mrs. Székely. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.02 Letter : Dr. Székely György to ALG 1988/0404
György is glad to hear that ALG will soon be visiting them. They will meet in Márta's cottage in the mountains. He hopes that ALG's Canadian trip was successful. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.03 Letter : ALG to Dr. Székely György 1988/0527
ALG sends the plans of his trip to Budapest, Hungary. He will be visiting Budapest on 30th of August. He wishes to stay again in Hotel Intercontinental, but it costs $125 a day. ALG sends his regards to Márta and his congratulations to György for the Pázmány-ceremony. He looks forward to seeing them soon. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.04 Letter : ALG to Dr. Székely György 1988/0425
ALG thanks György for his previous two letters with the interesting insets in them. Thanks to the Russian delegate, the meeting had to be held in English. But ALG worries if people understood everything. Unfortunately the exchange rate of the dollar is very low and tickets are expensive. Thus ALG needs to fly to Budapest at the end of August. ALG sends information concerning his reserach on "Aventinus" and he thanks György for commemorating his small book. He sends his respects to Márta. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.05 Letter : Dr. Székely György to ALG 1988/0324
György thanks ALG for his many postcards he sent from South America. Father Maccarrone attended the Conference of the Catholic Church History and delivered the Pope's message, but not in Latin but in Italian. György was glad to find among his forgotten library books a 1944 opusculum written by ALG. ALG was already writing a small masterpiece back then on Hungarian King-Saints. He encloses inserts and reviews about various events, including the uproar about publishing the History of Transylvania. He looks forward to meet ALG in the summer. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.06 Letter : Dr. Székely György to ALG 1988/0226
György thanks ALG for all his trouble concerning György's presidency in the Hungarian Subcommission. Due to ALG's efforts, György managed to find out the general secretary's address. He sends information about his academic research, publications, and lectures. The Hungarian Academy of Sciences accepted ALG's visit and talk. Should they send the message out, ALG is to receive reimbursement, too, at the end of August. Also a panel discussion will be organized by the Academy for this special occasion. Since ALG and Domonkos Laci need interesting reading material, György signed them up to the Museum's list. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.07 Letter : Dr. Székely György to ALG 1987/0608
While ALG attended the History of the Universities conference in Chechoslovakia, György has organized an art exhibition consisting of King Zsigmond's records and engrossments. Many countries contributed and sent their artifacts in to Budapest to this festive occasion. ALG is indeed the father of a separate school of taught. Gieysztor cites ALG a lot in his new "Symbolae" mentioning ALG's armorial many times. Today Gieysztor expects the visit of the Pope. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.08 Letter : ALG to Dr. Székely György 1988/0204
ALG encloses the letter he sent to the General Secretary affirming György's election as Hungary's representative of the International Committe. He asks György to respond to Ridder Symeons concerning his acceptance, in any of the five languages he fluently speaks and is also accepted by the International Committee of Historical Sciecnes. Since he did not receive funding for the trip, ALG will delegate Prof. Domonkos László to the Siena meeting. However ALG plans to visit Hungary at the end of the summer because his airfair will be reimbursed by the Americans. ALG is busy finishing two works: one for Sorbonne and the other his article of the Dictionary of Middle Ages before his trip to Budapest, Hungary. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.09 Letter : ALG to Dr. Székely György 1987/0925
ALG thanks György for his attention in sending the book that ALG used almost 50 years ago with the picture ID in it. ALG nostagically read his old notes, decipherable back then, on the pages of the book. In September, ALG visited Munchen, Germany, where he met with Gabriel Silagi, who is a great admirer of György. He still speaks Hungarian. Gabriel Silagi, like György and ALG, is the "lucky or unlucky" victim of the Nazis. ALG thinks that György is a scholar in grain, who has no time to solve administrative problems. ALG plans to visit Budapest in Spring while his student, Domonkos László, will be there. Then he would like to greet the artist Fábián Márta as well. In Prague, ALG was treated much better than in Budapest's Duna Hotel for he started to speak in Hungarian, which in turn degraded him to a lower outlandish category. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.10 Letter : Székely György to ALG 1987/0916
György is now professor at Eötvös University, located in the old parochial building. He is the head of the Middle Ages Department at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest. He invites ALG to visit his department one day as he put out the portraits of their former professors. He informs ALG about his visitors, historians, who arrive from Italy and other Western countries. György thanks ALG for the books and the reading material. Recently Dr. Kozma Béla, assistant professor at the university, found a book on the shelf of the University Library, containing ALG's note. György sends this to ALG to keep it as a small remembrance of the old time. He is sorry not to mention Rácz Aladár earlier, who's wife attended Márta's performance. György hopes that his study about Hungarian codices and about the more general trends of Hungarian civilization, will be published this year. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.11 Letter : Székely György to ALG 1987/0613
György sends information about colleagues in their field and conferences he lately attended. Smahel will give an invited talk at the Zsigmond-conference at Budapest. György is sorry that ALG could not attend the Spoleto-conference, where he lectured on Roman continuity again. The Ukranian Pritsak, too, attended the conference from the United States, who is at Harvard now. He is a great orientalist with encyclopedic knowledge of Chinese and Turkic sources. György looks forward to ALG's upcoming visit in Budapest, when he will have more time to show around ALG the country. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.12 Letter : Székely György to ALG 1987/0119
The Hungarian Subcommission of the History of Universities, led by György, visited Gödöllő last week as part of their special meeting. He tried to locate ALG's old refectory in the building. Now the old Premontre School's building houses the Agrarian University. Not long ago, the University welcomed the Soviet leader's, Gorbacsov's, visit. At the end of the meeting, György mentioned his visit to ALG, having the chance to see ALG's microfilm and library collection. His speech has made a hit. György inquires about ALG's plans to visit Prague. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.13 Letter : ALG to Székely György 1987/0312
ALG thanks György for the portraits of the great Hungarian Kings that were sealed exactly on ALG's birthday. He also thanks György for his greetings from Leningrad and Moscow, Soviet Union. ALG was happy to find out from György's letter that the Róna statue, depicting King Kálmán of Halicsi, is still enshrining the Premontré spirit. Should ALG receive funding from the International Research and Exchange, he is to visit Gödöllő, together with György, again. ALG would be obliged if György would sign the invitation for the paparwork. He also notes that he has sent a copy of his book to Klaniczay and a copy to his library as well. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.14 Letter : Székely György to ALG 1986/0625
Last week György made plans to visit Bloomington, New York, taking part in the earlier mentioned Rennaisance conference. Ránki György, the organizer, would like to invite ALG as well as Prof. Domonkos to the conference. György wishes that he could visit ALG at Notre Dame. He asks ALG to send instructions concerning an invited talk. He already heralded ALG's visit in Budapest, both at the University and in the Archives. Unfortunately, he could not specify the date. He wonders if ALG plans his trip to Budapest before or after being Wienna. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.15 Letter : Székely György to Ránki György 1986/0625
György officially notifies his colleague about his plans to attend the Rennaisance conference in Bloomington, sends the topic of his talk, and lays out the project to visit ALG at Notre Dame thereafter. He asks him to make the necessary travel arrangements. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.16 Letter : Antall József to ALG 1986/0112
József thanks ALG for his picture from Stuttgart, Germany. He sends information about the ambiguous role the Working Committee on the History of Higher Education has had in the past. Now it belongs to the Hungarian Academy of Scieces. József is happy to note that he met with a former French professor at Gödöllő, who is now doing research in Paris on Körösi Csoma Sándor. Antall József cites ALG many times especially when talking about ALG's sagacity of the "Ringlispill". Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.17 Letter : Sinkovics István to ALG 1985/0625
István intended to write sooner but was in Sopron, Hungary. He is sorry to note that because of his ill health he will not attend the meeting of the International Committee of History of Universities. Unfortunately, since Antall József and Szögi László have already committed themselves to give talks in Stuttgart, there is no chance for another talk. István sends information concerning the ceremony held for the 350 year anniversary of the existence of the Eötvös Lóránd University. Hungarian

Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.20 Letter : Dr. Antall József to ALG 1985/0716
József thanks ALG for his letter that he wrote in Hungarian. He will be in Stuttgart on 24th of August, together with Szögi László, and will be staying in Hotel Rieker. József would be happy if ALG would meet him there, if his busy schedule permits him to do so. Hungarian
- CALG 6/24.21 Letter : Székely György to ALG 1985/0717
György thanks ALG for his plans concerning his visit to Budapest and the Stuttgart conference. He informs ALG about the organizational problems of the congress, and looks forward to meet ALG at the end of September. He will then explain ALG the changes and promotions that are taking place at the Hungarian Acedemy of Sciences. Hungarian
