Last year, he was lucky to catch and watch the TV interview with ALG, which was broadcasted late at night in Budapest. There are lots of news in the air about ALG, his interviews and distinctions. ALG's pupils from Gödöllő are very proud of him and constantly mention his name even in his absence. Here in the United States he contacted many Premontré graduates who all keep in touch with ALG. Unfortunately, the Prémontré Abbey and School at Gödöllő, Hungary, is left with nothing. But his brother and Imre are still fighting for it. Imre asks ALG, the main patron of the Order, to send an autobiography, including events he lived through in his emmigration, for the Orders newspaper. Hungarian

- CALG 7/22.28 Letter : Dragsits Ottó to ALG 1991/0306
To Ottó's great surprise, the Hungarian TV broadcasted an interview with ALG a month ago. Ottó was surprised because the program did not mention ALG's name in their brochure so few people knew about it. He will make arrangements to purchase the ALG interview from the TV to be played back at future events or reunions. He inquires about the time when the interview was recorded. Ottó did find out in advance about ALG's radio interview last spring and called all his classmates to inform them. He is sad to note that Zalán has been involved in politics and did not show up at the reunion. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.29 Letter : Szentannay Győző to ALG 1990/1206
Győző is glad to note that their 50th reunion was very pleasant. However it was sad that the waiting staff at the banquet was unattentive and not polite at all. - CALG 7/22.31 Letter : ALG to Dr. Fényi Ottó 1988/1006
ALG is sad to note that he was not able to reach Ottó during his last visit in Budapest, Hungary. He intended to pay for the Mécs book, but he doesn't know the price. ALG also intended to invite Ottó to his high provost mass, but it seems that Ottó did not receive ALG's earlier message. ALG collects every memorabilia having to do with Gödöllő and sends them to the Daylesford Abbey where his former student, Dr. Ted Antry, is a prior. The Abbey is close to Philadelphia. ALG is sad to hear that at the universal chapter-house nobody mentioned them. As far as Veszelovszky is concerned, he not only did not mention ALG's proposition but also didn't take the floor whatsoever. ALG plans to talk to him to find out what really happened. He already has in his Notre Dame library collection the works of Karsai and Stuhlmann Patrick. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.32 Letter : Dr. Igaly György to ALG 1988/1005
Yesterday György mailed to ALG the "The report cards of the years 1924-1932 of the Gymnasium of the Prémontré Canonical Order and the corresponding Norbertine Boarding School". This documentation was carefully preserved, bound, and handed over to György by his father when he turned 18. He needed a permit to send the material abroad. As far as the National Széchenyi Library's permit is concerned, once György toled them who the recipient is, ALG, they immediately issued it. György thinks that this material proves that the principles and the teaching methods of the Prémontré Canonical Order was ahead of it's time. Those few who know it and are still alive are grateful for this. ALG ought to send the item they talked about in Budapest to his wife's cousin's address to London. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.33 Letter : ALG to Dr. Igaly György 1988/1111
ALG did not write sooner because he was very busy traveling. The Book arrived in perfect condition. - CALG 7/22.35 Letter : Dragsits Ottó to ALG 1987/1209
Ottó is sad to note that their old professor, Dr. Stefancsik, has died. The monastic quarters and convents at Gödöllő are undergoing renovation: The whitewashed frescos and murals are repainted and statutes from the basement are put back in place. But these are only minor repairs as the really valuable things were either stolen or distroyed in 1948. Ottós wife, Edit, sends her regards to ALG. Hungarian

Pista hopes to see ALG this summer but asks him to let him know in advance the dates of his visit so he can plan. After 20 years of waiting, Pista finally obtained the licence for a phone. He sends his phone number to ALG. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.37 Letter : Dr. Philippovich Károly to ALG 1988/0502
Károly's class, which graduated in 1938, will organize the 50th reunion this summer. Since ALG is their only priest-teacher still alive, Károly wants to know when he will visit Budapest this summer. They will move the date of the reunion to this time to make it easier for ALG to attend the banquet and the Sunday high mass. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.38 Letter : ALG to Dr. Philippovich Károly 1988/0527
ALG will visit Budapest, Hungary, at the beginning of September. If this is not a good time to organize the reunion, ALG would meet them regardless just like in the past. ALG's student, Dr. Domonkos, is currently giving lectures in Budapest and ALG plans to meet him as well. Dr. Domonkos informed ALG about the horribly high prices in Budapest. Thus ALG doesn't know yet at which Hotel he'll stay. He can't afford $155/night at Hilton. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.39 Letter : Hoensch Lóri to ALG 1988/0301
Lóri would like to know when ALG will be in Budapest this summer. He would like to make plans to meet him. Lóri also congratulates ALG for his new book and for his student who finished his Phd. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.40 Letter : Balogh Ferenc to ALG 1988/0612
Although now a big red star covers the script "Virtute Vinces" at Gödöllő, Ferenc still is proud to be a Prémontré graduate and fondly remembers the archaic walls of his school's building. He is sad to note, however, that he might not be able to attend the reunion this summer. Unfortunately his boss in Toronto, Canada, changed his business travel plans. He wishes ALG good time in Budapest. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.41 Letter : Dragsits Ottó to ALG 1988/0824

- CALG 7/22.43 Letter : Simon Miklós and Lili to ALG
They wish happy birthday to ALG and a happy new year. Miklós recalls ALG recently mentioning to him that if he would be the principal of the Prémontré Canonical School at Gödöllő again, he would lead the school in a different way. Miklós asks ALG what he ment by that and how would he do it differently. Miklós, now living in Evanston, Illinois, informs ALG about various disturbing events in his past he lived through in Hungary in 1944, 1948, 1956, and recently in 1989. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.44 Letter : Dr. Igaly György to ALG 1989/0315
György sends information concerning the status of parochial schools in Hungary. It seems that the state now supports the rehabilitation of such schools. He thinks that ALG ought to establish again the Prémontré Canonical Order with its educating boarding-school and its excellent didactical, educational program. If such a thing was possible at Gödöllő in the old king's castle, ALG would be the only person to accomplish this endeavour. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.45 Letter : Dragsits Ottó to ALG 1988/1209
Ottó is sad that he missed ALG's high mass on the 4th of September. Several of ALG's students also wanted to meet him, but many didn't know he will be coming to Budapest. Ottó hopes that ALG will make arrangements next time to visit them at Gödöllő. He sent out the message to all of ALG's friends and old students to listen to ALG's talk in the radio in September. Everybody heard the riport. Ottó sends information concerning the monastic quarters at Gödöllő. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.46 Letter : Szentannay Győző to ALG 1988/1207
Győző congratulates ALG for his radio report in September. He thanks ALG for giving him courage, belief, and common sense when he was his student in the Prémontré Gymnazium. These have helped him gather confidence during rough times. Győző, having led the new boyscout reunion, asks ALG for addresses of Hungarian boyscouts in Indiana. He intends to contact them while reestablishing the boyscout movement in Gödöllő. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.47 Document : Poem about ALG
Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.48 Letter : Ravasz László to ALG 1988/1225
He wishes merry Christmas and a happy new year. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.49 Letter : Dr. Haydu Zoltán to ALG 1988/1214
Zoltán thanks ALG for his letter having to do with his trip to Hungary. He heard it from Ravasz László that now ALG is the Prelate of the Prémontré Canonical Order of Jászóvár. Zoltán congratulates ALG for his distinction. He would like to meet ALG on his next visit to California and invites him to his house. Also he thinks it would be best if ALG met the "Hungarian-American Club" from Monterey Bay area. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.50 Letter : Berka József to ALG 1989/0123
After staying out of politics for many years, József has recently decided to join the Hungarian-Israeli Fraternity. He attaches his study on the Reichmann family's fortune in Toronto. For a long time ALG's brother, Ottó, and József have gotten in touch several times. Thus József could write ALG's biography. He is sad that ALG did not contact him during his repeated stays in Budapest. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.51 Document : Review on the Reichmanns of Toronto, the 7th richest family in the whole world. The family arrived from a small Hungarian town to Toronto, Canada, in 1950. In a short time, in two generations, it made it's fortune the sum-total of which reaches 15 billion dollars. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.52 Letter : Balogh Ferenc to ALG 1989/1212
Ferenc encloses three copies of bits of news on the Prémontré Order in Hungary and on his Alma Mater in Gödöllő in gratitude for ALG's affection for his students and commitment to his faith. He is sad to note that he could not attend his 50th reunion this summer, but he already received news of the ceremony from Láng Gábor. Ferenc sends information concerning the war trail of Finta Imre, in Toronto, which has been prepared for two years. He wishes happy Christmas and good health in the new year. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.53 Letter : Hoensch Lóránd to ALG 1988/0908
Lóránd encloses the pictures he took during ALG's stay in Budapest. He is glad that they finally met, like ALG's other students as well. Lóránd found, mostly in ALG, the traces of his youth and his recollections he has been looking for. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.54 Letter : Hoensch Lóránd to ALG 1988/1220
Not receiving any answer from ALG concerning the pictures, Lóránd is anxious that they got lost. Shortly after ALG's visit in Budapest, another prominent Hungarian scholar gave a lecture, thus keeping Gödöllő's unworldliness alive, Endrey Tóni. Lóránd sends his regards to Roller Kálmán in case ALG will contact him. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.55 Letter : ALG to Dr. Ladislav Frankovic 1989/0220
The pictures and the colorful brochure of Jászó arrived safely. ALG thanks for László's effort to compile them. A former Phd student of ALG, Dr. Theodore Antry, collects any record from Jászó. ALG will trust some of the pictures to him in Paoli, Pennsylvania. ALG sends his congratulations to Lágyi Kornél, scholar and head librarian of the Order, on his 90th birthday. ALG recollects László's predecessor, Oscenda, as he was leading his little body of disciples into the Jászó Chapel. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.56 Letter : ALG to Canon Aldorfai Benedek 1989/0220
ALG thanks Benedek for the pictures about the Jászó Chapel and its viscinity. Per ALG's request, Prior Dr. Theodore Antry of the Norbertine Abbey at Daylesford, collects and keeps every material having to do with Jászó, now Jasov in Chechoslovakia. ALG was born in Hungary, but he never regretted to join the Slovak Canonical Order at Jászó, instead of joining the Hungarian Order at Csornya. The Prémontré Canons of Csornya reestablished their Order in California. But ALG did not like the spirit of the Order when he visited them last time. ALG is sad to note that since Laurisin Lajos has died, he has no friends in America. Canon Raszlaviczy is dead and buried at the Daylesford Abbey. ALG sends information concerning former students of Gödöllő's Gymnazium who live in the United States and are all still indebted to their teachers. ALG regrets that he could not contact Benedek at Jászó when he was attending a conference in Prague last year. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.57 Letter : Szentannay Győző to ALG 1986/1223

He is sorry that he was not notified of ALG's last visit to Budapest but he hopes to see ALG on his next visit. Győző has been trying to contact his classmates, especially Hoensch, but with no success. He sends his new address. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.60 Letter : Bajor Pista (István) to ALG 1986/0722

- CALG 7/22.62 Letter : Dr. Ravasz László to ALG 1986/0712
László is happy to hear that ALG intends to visit Hungary in October. Since his wife and László are planning to travel to Japan on October 22nd, he asks ALG to visit one or two days earlier so that they can meet. László invites ALG over for a dinner party at their house. He asks ALG for his favourite Hungarian dish and preferred drinks. He also suggests a reunion with Bajor and his other pupils later in October. László hopes that the enclosed picture that was taken of his class in 1930 at Gödöllő will call nice memories to ALG's mind. He eagerly waits for ALG's response. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.63 Letter : Dragsits Ottó to ALG 1986/0803
The reunion in June was cancelled and postponed to October for ALG's visit. Ottó will show ALG's considerate letter to the pupils of ALG. He is sad to note that both Bolváry Jenő and Witzig Bandi passed away. He asks ALG to fix the date of the reunion ceremony and the High Mass in the Church of Saint Michael on St. Margaret's Island in Budapest, where he is honorary provost, until mid-September. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.64 Letter : Dr. Ravasz László to ALG 1986/0612
László sends information concerning their 50 reunion, which was held in May. ALG's letter, read by Bajor Pista, reverberated from ALG's old youthful humor that he has always had even when he was the master of the boarding house. Thus the solidarity of the 1936 graduating class derives from this special Norbertine intellect, spirit and education. László thinks that the character-building spirit he incepted for 8 years of his formal education in the Norbertine Order prepared him to endure later hardships in life with dignity; every society should establish high schools that teach morals and humanity. Now, unfortunately, people in Hungary erroneously think that the Norbertine Canonical Order has long been extinct. László sends an autobiographical note, including his unjust dismissal from the Department of Agriculture and memories of his established family. In 1948 he became a class enemy because of his family descent. László will consult with Bajor Pista's recital of the reunion events to make sure nothing is left out for ALG. He thanks ALG for the class's commemoration during his celebration and invites him to his house on his next visit. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.65 Letter : Dragsits Ottó to ALG 1986/0523
Their 46th class reunion will be held on 23rd of June. Ottó writes a few lines about the reunion and asks ALG to attend the luncheon ceremony. Ottó and other pupils would be obliged if ALG would say mass on St. Margaret's Island in the church where he is honorary provost on this special occasion. He sends his phone number for ALG's consideration to make arrangements in this regard. Hungarian
- CALG 7/22.66 Letter : ALG to Dragsits Ottó 1986/0605
It will be impossible for ALG to attend the reunion because he will be busy preparing his new publication for the Frankfurt Book-festival, which will be on the 1st of October. ALG is sad to miss this special event and promises to talk to his them on the phone during the ceremony. ALG, now an old man, is happy to see his Prémontré pupils' unparalleled loyalty they show to him. He, too, treasures a book published by them in 1940, with a class photo attached to it. During his visit ALG plans to held a celebration in October in Budapest and invites Ottó and his former classmates to this event, following a dinner. ALG inquires about his pupils, who left Hungary and lost touch with them. Hungarian

- CALG 7/22.68 Letter : ALG to Bajor István 1986/0503
ALG is happy to hear that his pupils pay reverence to their professors -- dead or alive. Unfortunately he can't attend the festivities but he will send a letter of salutation with Dr. Luttor Kálmán. ALG earned his Phd exactly 50 years ago from the Pázmány Péter University. Then he was busy studying in Budapest and in the evenings taking care of his pupils in the Gödöllő boarding school. Nevertheless ALG still remembers most of them. He probably doesn't recall those who lived out. He sends information about István's classmates living abroad. ALG remembers the poetry and songs unique to Gödöllő at that time that teachers and students all sang together. He hopes his pupils will have a good time at their 50th reunion. Hungarian
