He and his wife wish happy Christmas to ALG. Hungarian
- CALG 10/22.10 Letter : Simon Miklós to ALG 1966/1225
Miklós is sorry that he is sentimental about his meeting with ALG. It is a rare and moving occassion when a former student meets his old teacher the first time after many years. ALG, having a great sense of humor, immense knowledge, and an unequalled receptive mind, gave Miklós power to fight to overcome difficulties through his whole life. Miklós invites ALG to visit their home in Evanston where his wife opened the Lili Simon Piano Studios. He wishes happy Christmas. Hungarian
- CALG 10/22.11 Letter : Simon Miklós to ALG 1980/1225

There is a great demand for ALG's presence on this event. Győző asks ALG to update him on his new research and academic work. Perhaps an invitation from the Hungarian Academy would make ALG's trip to Hungary less expensive. Győző is healthy but his wife recently had a bypass surgery. Győző's new hobby are personal computers and teaching programming. Hungarian

She thinks that the French School of the College of Premontre was the old and free Hungary's pride. Lenke hopes that ALG attended the ceremony at the French embassy. - CALG 10/24.08 Letter : ALG to Mezey László 1982/0723
Unfortunately the dates that László suggested to meet in December will not work for ALG. ALG needs to be Europe in September and consequently would like to make the trip to Hungary then. The plane ticket to Budapest in December costs ALG's 7 months pension. It is out of question that ALG can make the transatlantic flight twice in a row. Also ALG has not yet received the invitation from the Hungarian Academy. Should this fail to arrive until 08/20, ALG is to postpone his trip to Hungary. ALG sends his regards to his eminence. Hungarian
- CALG 10/24.09 Letter : Mezey László to ALG 1982/0702

- CALG 10/24.11 Letter : Mezey László to ALG 1982/0406
László is sad to note that in Hungary and in Budapest, but especially in Esztergom, feelings run high due to ALG's long silence. At the end of Januray, his eminence from Esztergom sent the decision, in Latin, to appoint ALG to Titular Provost. Many people ask László about ALG's whereabouts and about his plans to visit Hungary. He will follow ALG's good advice and will contact Mme Garand when publishing the "Fragmenta". Hungarian

ALG's visit to Hungary and his talk at the Academy depends on the time he is available. Dr. Angelo Paredi at the Ambrosiana is a good friend of ALG's. He sends his regards to Székely György. Hungarian
- CALG 10/24.20 Letter : Dr. Klaniczay Tibor to ALG 1981/0330

Gyözo" recalls ALG lecturing on the same topic at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences where many of his former students from Gödöllő were present. Gyözo" sees the current political situation in Hungary as being the same as the one in the past 43 years: there are many poor senior citizens already and the Bokros plan will lead to an economic disaster, causing more poverty. He will soon not be able to pay the utilities from his pension. He sends information about the upcoming 55th high school reunion. In the meanwhile Gyözo" translates articles from the National Geographic magazin. He looks forward to meet ALG at the reunion. Hungarian
- CALG 10/29.03 Letter : Huszár Ottó to ALG 1995/0315
Ottó received the letter and the articles. He will follow ALG's advice and will not send more books and articles due to expensive postage. Yet he wanted ALG to have a new book that deals with Hungarian students' relocation to Dresden from Budapest in December 1944 where they spent almost a year. Ottó too, being a politechnic student at that time, lived through the bombing of Dresden by the allies. Later he received a "displaced person" pass. This year will be the 50th anniversary of the Dresden bombing and of the "fall" of Budapest. Ottó encloses a letter sent to Fény Ottó inviting him to a commemorating ceremony. He also sends ALG an article written by a former Hungarian politechnic student recollecting his memories of the time when he was in Germany at the end of WWII. He has visited Kassa, Slovakia, on the occasion of a Premontré 50th graduation reunion. He is glad to note that Kassa has a Hungarian language high school and that the common life of the Norbertine Order is restored again. Hungarian masses are held at the Church on a regular basis. He encloses his engineering diploma that has the new seal with the cross on it. Hungarian

János will fly to Budapest in September to attend his 50 reunion. He sends information of his close family in Cleveland and extended family in Budapest. Zoltán and his family spent seven weeks in South America. They have been attacked by gunned robbers and kept hostage for days. But they survived the attack. Zoltán would like to know whether ALG will attend their 60th reunion anniversary. He will stay with his wife in the Termal Hotel. Should ALG decide to make the trip, he is to stay with them in the hotel and be their guest. He is sad to note that many of his former classmates died last year. The class should be organizing the 60th high school reunion, but it seems that only those who live abroad are fit to do that. László's granddaughter thanks ALG for the present. In return she painted an icon for ALG. László thinks that the Hungarian society is heading towards a wrong direction. Unfortunately the politicians have depraved the country and now is difficult to teach values, likes integrity, to the young. László thanks ALG for keeping the faith in him to love his country. Hungarian
- CALG 10/29.13 Letter : Dr. Ravasz László to ALG 1995/1215
László is sorry for not writing so often this year. Due to his pulmonary disease he spent lots of time in the hospital and he is now very week. He thanks ALG for the newsletter, which he immediately circled round the old boys. László learned from Bajor Pityu of the possibility that ALG will not make the trip for the gaudy next year because he is ill. Perhaps they will ask Fényi Ottó to say the high mass. He lists the name of his classmates who will attend the ceremony. László wrote down his first hand experiences of Gödöllő from 1928 until 1936 and sent it to Fényi Ottó. Ottó has spread the news about ALG's visit to Budapest. Everybody looks forward to see ALG visit his old school. Ottó invites ALG to visit not only Budapest but the new high school at Gödöllő as well. He sees now that ALG is outraged that the St. Norbert Order was not successful in getting its old buildings back from the state. Yet the Premontré Order in Hungary is lucky to have raised money from donations and from the restitution. The Order built a new school and obtained the licence for starting higher education in the building. Ottó encourages ALG to revisit Gödöllő, including the St. Norbert Church and the new school. He encloses an invitation to the old boys reunion on June 8th. Hungarian

István, as a former student of the Premontré Gymnazium at Gödöllő, sends a biographical sketch and news about his family. He received ALG's request to write sometime a correction to his article stating that not all Premontré Canons at Gödöllő were rude and rough in their look and behavior. István did send a correction to the newspaper. However, he was right when he wrote that his former Professor, Prof. Wéber, smacked him on face several times. István, having said that, did not want to generalize this attitude to all Canons of Gödöllő. He encloses several praising reviews of his two recent novels. He regrets that ALG was never invited to give a talk at the Chicago St. Stephen's Church. Dr. Mihályi Gilbert, the head of the church, claimed for years that ALG would not accept such invitation anyway as he is very busy traveling around the world. Hungarian
