- CALG 12/25.01 Letter : Székely György to ALG 1994/0812
György received ALG's great news having to do with his research in Frankfurt and in Vienna. He also admires ALG's seniority in the Académie des Inscriptions. In Budapest, Hungary, ALG's Alma Mater was honoured that ALG accepted their invitation, eloquently lecturing on the degree congregation. Although the new law prohibits teaching at the university over 70, György still lectures on Medieval history at the request of the Hungarian President. Hungarian
- CALG 12/25.02 Letter : Komlósi László Imre to ALG 1994/0718
His wife, Liz, and László thank ALG for his letter. László thanks ALG for the invitation to attend the ceremony, which he would like to reciprocate soon. He received "The Paris Studium" and popularized it among his colleagues at the university. László's father, who has extensively studied the history of education, also set a high value on ALG's book. - CALG 12/26.01 Letter : Fényi Ottó to ALG 1996/1231
Ottó will turn 80 next month. Thus another prior will be elected soon at the Premontré abbey lands of Gödöllő. ALG sent his vote of confidence written in Latin in November so he already met his commitment. The school building is not ready just yet as the government has stopped issuing the compensations. After he retires, Ottó will be busy making arrangements the school. He thanks ALG for the check of $100. Hungarian
- CALG 12/26.02 Letter : Pásztai Ottó to ALG 1996/0509
Ottó thanks ALG for the letter and for the check. In the last two years, the Premontré Alumni Association of Nagyvárad, Romania, has accompished many of its goals. Ottó attaches couple of brochures about the Association for ALG to distribute to institutions in America that might be able to help them financially. Hungarian
- CALG 12/26.03 Letter : Fényi Ottó to ALG 1995/1208
Ottó thanks ALG for the presents and checks. These make the written recollections and records of the inchoate Order at Gödöllő more rich. The abbey is functioning well for over two years now. The Premontre Gymnazium, too, can show considerable success. Ottó sends information having to do with the events at the Premontre Order of Gödöllő. He wonders if ALG plans to pay a visit to Hungary soon. Hungarian
- CALG 12/26.04 Letter : Bartal Károly Tamás to ALG 1996/0328
Károly thanks ALG for his kind and reassuring words. He informs ALG of the new events at the Jászó Abbey. He sends his warm thanks that ALG has not forgotten them. Hungarian
- CALG 12/26.05 Letter : Veszelovszky Albin to ALG 1996/0301
After receiving ALG's greetings, Albin tried to reach ALG by phone, but he could not. Now he sends a few lines. Hungarian
- CALG 12/26.06 Letter : Pásztai Ottó to ALG 1995/0105
Ottó is glad to note that after 50 years of dark Communist rule they were able to establish the Premontré Alumni Association of Nagyvárad. Ottó was elected as president. He sends the plans of the association including the events and institutions they would like to sponsor. Since the members are all senior citizens there is not much revenue coming in for the Association. Ottó asks ALG to promote them in the United States and look for instituions that may be able to send help, either financial or in kind. Most importantly they need girls scout and boys scout uniforms. Hungarian
- CALG 12/26.07 Letter : Márton Hugó to ALG 1995/1210
Hugó thanks ALG for his kind regards and the best wishes he sent a year ago. Hugó sends a few lines wishing good health and a happy life to ALG on his 88 birthday. Should ALG feel lonely on Christmas, he is to think of the many great memories he has around him in his room. Hugó inquires about ALG's high mass that he just celebrated today. He thanks for the copies of the articles from the American Hungarians weekly. Hungarian
- CALG 12/26.08 Letter : Miklósházy Attila to ALG 1995/0728
The first time after 57 years, Attila, the episcopus Hungarorum in exteris living in Canada, was able to tour Europe. The Premontré Order at Jászó, Slovakia, is the only one who cares about the Hungarians living there. He thanks ALG for the letter and the donation. Hungarian

- CALG 12/27.01 Letter : ALG to Fényi Ottó 1994/1227
ALG was glad to read Ottó's article appearing in the Hungarian Church History Almanach. The article is about Bernát. ALG's friend, Professor Székely György, was of great assistance to Bernát. ALG inquires about Bernát's monograph having to do with the Public Records of Budapest. ALG learned from his American friends in the holy order of a new Catalogue that will be put together in Germany. ALG is sorry to note that the previous Catalogues have degraded his accomplishments and titles. Here in America everybody knows that within the Roman Catholic Church ALG is one the greatest scholars and member of most Academies. ALG attaches the corret version of the full text with his titles. He will send a copy to Kutsch in Germany. Hungarian
- CALG 12/27.02 Letter : Igaly Gyuri to ALG 1993/1128
Finding that there is a new church schoolestablished at Gödöllő in the former baracks, Gyuri would like to know the proper name of the school. He also inquires about the name of the head of the Premontré Order in Hungary, in case there is one. Gyuri and couple of former students of ALG from Gödöllő do think that a coeducational public school, even if an old Premontré Provost is its principal, can not claim to be the true descendant of the old Premontré School they have attended. Gyuri also asks ALG to call, or pay his respect to, Countess Bárczy Piroska who lives in Providence now. No one other than her and Gyuri are the descendants of the Bánffy Earldom. Gyuri would be happy if ALG would pay a visit to him when he visits Budapest next time. He wishes happy Christmas. Hungarian
- CALG 12/27.03 Letter : ALG to Fényi Ottó 1994/1122
ALG thanks Ottó for the information sent on 15 of August. Ottó did mention is his letter the financial compensations paid by the Hungarian state to the Order in satisfaction of wrong done in 1945. As per Ottó's will, ALG did not make any arrangements to get back the Canon's monastic quarters from the state. ALG learned by word of mouth of the "half a million", but he does not know if this amount is in dollars or the Hungarian currency, Forint. This relief, however, does not mean selling the Order at Gödöllő. ALG will vote "non placet" if the Hungarian government considers this a sale with a transfer of ownership to them. This would eliminate any future atonement from their part. If the relief is considered "lease" then ALG would vote yes. He knows that nobody will vote "non placet" and that his only vote will not change anything, still his conscience dictates him to cast this vote. ALG thinks that Ottó keeps all his correspondences, just like ALG keeps his. ALG will turn 87 soon. Hungarian
- CALG 12/27.04 Letter : Fényi Ottó to ALG 1994/0815
Ottó regrets that they did not meet upon ALG's last visit. He understands ALG's reservations and reasons for not paying his respect at Gödöllő. Earlier Ottó had sent a book including his greetings to ALG with another brother from the order, but he was informed that ALG has not received them. He hopes that despite all past grievances, ALG will visit his alma mater at Gödöllő on the next opportunity he gets. Ottó sends information concerning the restitution of the Order's buildings, including the abbey and the land, from the Hungarian state. There have been negotiations going on for years now. Hungarian

- CALG 12/27.08 Letter : ALG to Fényi Ottó 1994/0627
Perhaps Ottó has learned from the papers of ALG's visit in Budapest, Hungary. The visit had to be brief consequently ALG did not have time to visit Ottó. Also he did not call him at Gödöllő because he had no intention to talk to that Premontré brother, who recently visited American abbeys but did not bother to contact ALG. In Hungary, ALG did not want to abash Ottó. Unfortunately their former student and benefactor, Kálmán Tivadar, passed away. Hungarian
- CALG 12/27.09 Letter : Fényi Ottó to ALG 1992/1210
Ottó sends his congratulations to ALG on his 85th birthday, the senior professor of the convent at Gödöllő. Ottó intended to write before ALG's birthday but was too busy. Now he would like to thank ALG for the letters and the precious book-collection he donated to the new library of the Order at Gödöllő. He begs pardon for not thanking him sooner. Their common friend, Kumorovitz Bernát, passed away. Ottó informs ALG of the current events happening in the Premontré Orders at Gödöllő, Hungary, and at Várad, Romania. Hungarian
- CALG 12/27.10 Letter : Márton Hugó to ALG 1993/0809
Hugó regrets that he has not written for 18 months to thank ALG for his greetings. In 1991, he paid a visit to Várad, Romania, and then he was ill for a while. He is happy to hear that ALG, turning 86, is in good health. He also hears that upon his visit to Budapest ALG did not have time to visit the St. Norbert's College at Gödöllő. He asks if ALG's title is listed correctly in the Catalog that is currently in making or is he still listed simply as member of the Order. The Abbot General promised Hugó a spot in the Campo Santo Verano vault in Rome when needed. Hungarian
- CALG 12/27.11 Letter : Dragsits Ottó to ALG 1990/1212
Ottó is sorry for not responding to ALG's letter since May, but he was aggrieved by its content. He will recap his response in 5 major points. Ottó begs pardon for his bluffness. Along with other members of the St. Norbert Order and the College, Ottó supports the work of Nunc Prior of Gödöllő, Fényi Ottó. He attaches the form ALG has to fill out to receive pension for his work in Hungary. Should ALG receive the remittance, this will only be enough for a couple of quail-egg soups. Hungarian

- CALG 12/29.01 Letter : Bartal Károly Tamás to ALG 1992/0327
Although Károly doesn't know ALG in person, still he writes a few lines informing him of the Premontré Canonical Order at Jászó. Now the abbey has 7 residents: 5 novicus, the prior, and Károly. The rest of the castle is used as a hospital where people with psychosis are treated. The state gave back the house at Kassa, Slovakia. Now this functions as a boarding school. However, the Order's stolen assets were not compensated at all. Károly is sad to note that for 22 years they have not said mass in the church at Jászó, due to renovation. He will show the church, the abbey, and the nearby valleys to ALG when he visits Jászó. Hungarian
- CALG 12/29.02 Letter : Bartal Károly Tamás to ALG 1995/0103
Károly thanks ALG for his kind words. He tries hard to get back the abbey lands and the confiscated personal property from the Slovakian state. He foresees that the recompensation process will take a long time. But the renovation of the library's ceiling is in progress. Károly also hopes that the Order will get back the properties at Lelesz as wonderful old frescos were found in its church. If everything goes well the sorority at Jászó will recover again in a couple of years. He asks ALG to include them in his prayers. Hungarian

Pál has a report, signed by Lieutenant J. Cottin, corroborating this agreement between the French troops and ALG and respectively Rubletzky Géza. Unfortunately the plan fell through and ALG and Pál lost contact after the occupation. Pál asks ALG to remember the events prior to the German occupation of the French College on December 18th, 1944. He also inquires about the role of prelates in the French resistance movement, specifically ALG's role. Pál remembers ALG being in contact with Lieutenant J. Cottin during the Nazi reign until the last moment. Pál intends to evoke the past, not to change it. He asks ALG for any information of that period. He will not, however, mail them as they tend to get lost. The books are available for purchase at Kultura or Puski companies too. Lázár is sorry to hear that the books got lost last year in the mail. He inquires about the sender. He has learned of ALG's stunning bibliography and his brilliant career. Lázár sees that ALG's name is printed erroneously in the Literary Cyclopaedia: Gábriel instead of Gabriel how ALG writes it. Hungarian
- CALG 12/35.07 Letter : Macskásy Pál to ALG 1981/0725
Pál learned from Dercsényi Dezső of ALG's address. He thinks that ALG did not receive his first letter written two years ago. This letter is an inquiry after ALG's whereabouts in December 1944, after they lost contact. Pál collects data from the Military History Archives and tries to compile other unpublished documents on the subject: French-Hungarian relations at the end of 1944. He asks ALG to send information and his personal recollection concerning the weeks before the occupation of the St. Norbert College at Gödöllő. He found an entry in his journal of Decemebr 13, 1944, saying that now the Arrow Cross Party is searching religious convents. He tried to contact ALG.
