Quinones, Estevan de
New Orleans, (Louisiana)

Installation of Father Francis Lennan in Natchez (Mississippi), Father Gregory White in Colescreek (Villa Gayoso Mississippi, and Father James Colman in Pensacola (Florida).

Walsh, Father Patrick
New Orleans

to Francisco (Luis Hector) Baron de Carondolet
New Orleans

As a result of Carondolet's letter of November 26, (1793) and that of Don Manuel Gayoso (de Lemos), governor of Natchez which was included in it, he has removed Father Lennan from Pensacola to Natchez in order to resume his old parish of Colescreek, thus helping out Father White, the only pastor in Natchez. But as (Father White) suffers various attacks, Walsh has assigned him as parish priest at Colescreek where there are few parishioners, but White will live at Natchez with Father Lennan whom he can assist with the more numerous duties there. Since the parish of Tombecbe (Tombigbee, Alabama) does not absolutely need a pastor he removes Father Colman from there to Pensacola. This is a copy made by Quinones.
