For this event Hassett is to meet at the government house with all the ecclesiastics at 11:30 so that final arrangements may be made and so that as the king's deputies for the transfer they may notify Hassett successfully. Hassett, Father Thomas Since governor Manuel de Salcedo and Sebastian Calvo de la Puerta y O'Farril(l), Marques de Casa Calvo, commissioned by His Majesty for the transfer of this province to the French Republic, in a letter of May 26, sent Hassett the proclamation which is attached, so that necessary arrangements may be made and the wishes of all the priests may be investigated, Hassett orders the notary, Nar(ci)so Broutin to notify all the clergy of this city beginning with the Vicar-General and Assistant Father Patricio Walsh to determine whether they wish to remain in this province and to send circular letters to the rural pastors with copies of the proclamation.
